Sur la route des Côtes du Rhône en crèche provencale ! / The wine route on a provencal crib !

Chaque fin d'année dans le hameau de Saint Gély un village est créé. Ce village a quelque chose de particulier, il rentre tout entier dans le grenier de Jean-Marc !
Every year in the hamlet of Saint Gely a whole village is being created. This village has something special, it fits into Jean-Marc's attic !

Portrait d'un artiste:
Electricien de profession, sa passion est toute différente. Avec plus de 400 personnages et 250 animaux Jean Marc crée chaque année un village provencal avec des santons.
Working as an electrician, his passion is something totally different. With more than 400 characters and 250 animals, Jean Marc creates every year a whole provencial village with manger figurines.



Personne n'est oublié, sur la place du village autour de la fontaine on retrouve le petit marché avec ses vendeurs de légumes, son boucher, le marchand de fromages etc... Juste a coté le maire est à l'entrée de la mairie située entre l'école, ou c'est l'heure de la récréation et l'auberge ou c'est l'heure de la belote.
Bien évidement on peut assister à une partie de pétanque, attention à ne pas trop les déranger, un joueur de prépare, va-t-il pointer ou tirer ?
No one is left out, on the town square around the fountain we find the small market with the fruit and vegetable merchant, the butcher, the cheese merchant, etc... Just next to them we see the mayor at the entrance of the city hall; located between the school where it is break time and the restaurant where you find the players of "belote" (card game). Obviously we can see a petanque game, let's be careful to not disturb them, a player is ready to throw his ball !



Plus loin sur la colline on apercoit les oliviers, c'est d'ailleurs la période de récolte!
Juste en dessous a coté du moulin on reconnait Alphonse Daudet, Frédéric Mistral et Marcel Pagnol. Pas loin un berger est avec sa chèvre, c'est Monsieur Seguin !
Further up on the hill we see the olive trees, by the way it is harvest time !
Just under, next to the mill we recognize Alphonse Daudet, Frederic Mistral and Marcel Pagnol, famous provencal writers. Not far from there, we have a shepherd with his goat, it's Mister Seguin !



On fait quelques kilomètres au sud, on arrive en Camargue, on trouve une manade. Les manadier déplacent les taureaux; juste a coté des gitans on monté un camp avec leur roulotte et ont fait un feu de camp.
We go a few kilometers south, we arrive at the Camargue. The "Manadiers" are moving the bulls, just next to them some gypsies settled a camp with their caravan and prepared a camp fire.

On reviens plus haut et on voit les chasseurs en pleine battue au sanglier; les cueilleurs de champignons et chercheurs de truffes ont interet a faire attention !
We come back north and find some hunters currently hunting wild boars; the mushrooms and truffles harvesters better be careful !



Sur le chemin du retour on se retrouve sur la route touristique des Côtes du Rhône, on hésitera pas à s'arreter au caveau du Chateau Saint Nabor pour une petite dégustation!
On the way back we are on the Côtes du Rhône wine route, we won't hesitate to stop at the Chateau Saint Nabor tasting room and taste the latest wine release !



Ils sont si nombreux que je ne peux tous les citer mais je vais terminer avec ceux sans lesquels la crèche n'existeraient pas: la nativité ! Installée dans une vieille grange.
There are so many that I can't name them all but I will finish with the ones that make it all possible: the nativity crib ! Established in an old stable.



La crèche restera visible jusqu'a la fin Janvier.
The crib will be visible until the end of January
