Une télé-réalité dans le monde du vin ! / Reality TV in the wine world !

Une télé-réalité sur le monde du vin, non ce n'est pas en France que cela se passe (Loi Evin oblige ... ) mais aux Etats-Unis.
J'entend déjà les questions: "Une télé-réalité sur le vin ? Mais qu'est ce qu'ils font exactement ?"
Ils font ... du vin tout simplement !!
Enfin tout simplement facon de parler puisque ces 12 candidats participent à toutes les étapes de la fabrication du vin, en commencant dans les vignes par la récolte des raisins en passant par la réception des raisins à la cave et la vinification pour arriver à un produit fini: le vin en bouteille.
A reality-show about the wine world, no it is not happening in France ( because of the Evin law...) but in the USA.
I already hear you asking: "A reality show about wine ? But what are the people doing ?"
People are simply making ... wine !!
Actually it is more or less simple, 12 candidates will participate in all the steps in winemaking; starting in the vines by harvesting the grapes, going through the reception of the grapes at the cellar and the winemaking process to finally get to an end product: bottled wine.

Derriere le travail de base de "winemaker" il y a tout le monde du vin qui coule de source, les participant se frottent à la partie business aussi: avec des épreuves où ils mettront en pratique leur sens du commerce pour vendre le vin. Mais également savoir en parler: expliquer ce qu'est un vin et découvrir l'art de la dégustation.
Behind the base work of a winemaker there is also the whole wine world that comes naturally; the candicates discover the business part: they will have to be inspired to sell wine. They will also learn how to talk about wine: explain what is wine and discover the art of wine tasting.

La saison 1 déja diffusée sur PBS, le tournage de la saison 2 est terminé. Alors que la saison 1 prenait place en Californie ( Paso Robles ) une particularité de la saison 2 est qu'elle a été en partie tournée dans la Vallée du Rhône; notre belle région.
Season 1 already broadcast on PBS, shooting of season 2 is done. Season one took place in California ( Paso Robles ), the season 2 as the particularity of being partly shot in our beautiful Rhone Valley.

En tant que producteur de vin je ne peux que me réjouir d'un tel engouement sur le monde du vin, mais je reste sur ma faim etant donné qu'en France le CSA interdise toute communication sur ce theme ( 2 projets de chaines tv sur le vin ayant été abandonnés ). Trop peu de consommateurs en France connaissent vraiment le vin tel qu'il est, ce type d'émission grand public permettrait de faire découvrir notre métier et nos produits sous un angle different.
Dans cette optique nous pourrions nous engager dans la vague des émissions type "Top Chef", allez soyons fou et mettons nous à rever à un "Top Vigneron" dans les prochaines années !!
Being a winemaker I can only be happy to see people discovering the wine world this way, but it could be better: indeed in France advertising about wine on TV is totally forbidden ( 2 projects of wine channels aborted because of that ). Too little consumers really know wine in France, this kind of show would bring them a new vision and lots of information about our passion and products.
In a perfect world we would be part of other shows like "Top Chef". Lets dream today of having a show like "Top Winemaker" in the next years !!
